With the Betway Summer Cup just around the corner now, racing in the highveld looks to be tricky as preparations get underway for the province’s biggest race.
Race 5 (14:35) – One Party
One of the best bets on the day come in Race 5 as Gavin Lerena jumps aboard One Party for the first time. The daughter of One World produced a decent comeback run, finishing second over the minimum trip. Now over more ground and over a distance she has won before, the Fanie Bronkhorst-trained filly looks tough to oppose.
Race 6 (15:10) – Doitwithdiamonds
Doitwithdiamonds is another filly taking on the boys and looks well worth a punt here. She has a great record over this course and distance, winning once and finishing runner-up twice over four starts. The Tony Peter-trained daughter of Silvano won an encouraging race last time out and should make it back-to-back wins.
